Georgetown Theatre Workshop & Black Dog Theatre are seeking 8–10 actors of all ages, abilities, experience levels, and backgrounds for Love, Loss, and What I Wore. We would love to bring together an ensemble with a wide range of life experiences to share these funny, tender, deeply human stories.

About the play
Written by Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron, based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, Love, Loss, and What I Wore uses clothing as a way into something much bigger: memory, relationships, and the events that mark our lives. Through stories of mothers and daughters, friendship, romance, heartbreak, and finding our way, the play explores what we hold on to—and how we become ourselves.
Told through a series of monologues and ensemble scenes, the play has an intimate, conversational style: sometimes like reading from a diary, sometimes like catching up with an old friend. Its humor and emotional depth come from the details we recognize in one another’s lives. Each actor will portray multiple characters, helping create a shared portrait of experiences that are both deeply personal and familiar.

Casting
We’re looking for expressive storytellers who can bring warmth, humor, and honesty to a variety of roles. Whether you’ve spent years on stage or are considering auditioning for the first time, we welcome you.

Auditions: Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10, 2026 7pm - 9:30pm
Call Backs: If needed callbacks will be held Thursday, November 12 7pm - 9:30pm
Location: Byfield Community Arts Center, 7 Central St. Byfield MA
Audition preparation: Auditions will be selected from the script. Sides will be emailed in early-November.
